Great relaxed atmosphere. Friendly staff. Fast service. Not overly busy. Prices are very reasonable. I would personally visit again as well as recommend to fiends and family. (Note: I did not visit on a match day).
I've had 2 visits both mid week with differing experiences. Both times the pub has been fairly busy as choice is limited locally. Beer selection is ok, nothing special but probably caters fine for local taste. Menu offers good choice and incredible value. First time I ate in here I had a bit of a wait for food (fish and chips and mac and cheese) but it was worth it. Food was surprisingly tasty having expected cheap microwaved meals. Second time I ordered a steak which was terrible. Asked for medium but came out so overcooked. Perhaps to be expected for the low price but if I come back I'll be avoiding the steak. Bar service can be a little slow but staff otherwise friendly.

Hobbit themed cocktails and a t-shirt for drinking all 12?! It's great fun and just when you think you're done there is another quest and another shirt! The pub itself is nice and cozy, offers jukebox pinball and pool table as well as outdoor seating. It's more fun as a small group, four or five than on your own or just with one friend.
Since my student years I've always loved going to the Hobbit. For a casual one, game of pool and listening to music. Not sure I could handle the fellowship anymore! But The Hobbit is a great place to go.

Welcoming friendly Conscientious helpful staff. Very clean throughout including the toilets. Great choice of drinks and welcoming regulars (1st visit). Would recommend highly. Like a pub should be. Will be back.
Called in for a swift pint with my dog on a Saturday afternoon. Friendly staff and locals. Nice pint of 6x.

Exceptionally delicious. Fresh food comes out when it's ready. Great size small plates with tons of flavour. Good cocktail and wine list. Service was friendly and not overbearing. No complaints whatsoever! Totally recommend a visit.
Food was very tasty and the cocktails nice. Liked the atmosphere and nice for a date. Probably a little on the pricey side considering location though.

Popped in here after the breakfast was recommended to me by a Twitter follower, I was not disappointed... a very fine dish served in pleasant surroundings. This place is a hidden gem within walking distance from st Mary's stadium.
absolutely amazing. Great food, beautiful setting, clean. All staff are very welcoming & friendly. The girls are stunning ;)

Good service, nice salads which you can eat as much as you want and decent pizza. I had cheesy corner pizza which was not worth it. Did not feel any cheese. Stick to regular practice one and you will be good. I would appreciate a better range of non alcoholic drinks. I wanted a non alcoholic beer which was not on the menu. Okay, let's get a Coca-Cola zero. No coke, only Pepsi. Disappointing as I don't like the taste. So I had to order a tea...
Good service and atmosphere, but still the price is quite high for the small portions you get on everything sadly.
15-16 St Mary St, Southampton SO14 1NP, UK – 023 8063 2221
Cheap and cheerful. Great for a work lunch as service is quick. Set price is good value. The only downside is the amount of onions they add to all thier main dishes.
Great service and atmosphere, for me personally best chinese/malaysian food in southampton

I will not go anywhere else. Always have excellent quality food from here. There is no alternative. Thank you for another 5* buffet.
The food here is awesome. Best take away around. Sometimes there can be a wait but its worth it.

Fantastic food! We travel down for work regularly and order from here all the time, food is great and it's always nice and hot when it arrives. We had to wait almost an hour once but that was due to traffic as there was a football match on but the driver did call us to let us know. We would Recommend this place to any visitors wanting a take away 😀😋👌👍
Good food and great value. Staff very friendly

Amazing South Indian food. Great location. Fabulous staff.

Found Royal India on Just Eat but as I didn't order through JE I was unable to leave them a great review, so here it is! Spoke to lovely, polite lad when I ordered, the delivery time was shorter than the 45 mins quoted which was great for us! Onion Bhaji's were a tiny bit oily but soft in the middle, crispy on outside and tasty! All food was delicious, Balti was a little hotter than I expected but still managed to eat most of it ;) Rice was cooked perfectly and portion sizes generous. Food was delivered hot and price very reasonable. Will definitely order from Royal India again!
Very good food and service. No complaints at all!!

Prompt service. Excellent food. Not too busy on a Saturday night.
The waiting staff are friendly and very helpful, offering advice on menu selections. The curries are fantastic in this restaurant and on my last visit I thoroughly enjoyed their sweet peshwari naan freshly made with an awesome chicken tikka massala which is one of the best I've tasted anywhere. I look forward to going back again. :)

First visit, for a family birthday celebration dinner. Tempted by excellent Internet reviews it was great to find the reality matched the high expectations. Friendly and efficient service and really high quality food. I would recommend choosing from the Specials Board: we enjoyed superb fillet steak, mussels and salmon/scallop risotto. In comparison the tapas selection was nothing to rave about, but won't stop us going back to Max's for our next celebration dinner. Thank you Max!
Just celebrate a significant birthday here with 25 family and friends.. Superb... Couldn't fault the food, the place, Max and his team were fantastic. Thoroughly recommend and I am quite hard to please. Thank you again Max.. We will be back.

Always great food at affordable prices. Set menus are varied, alcohol is slightly overpriced. Always served by friendly staff. The new app is great
Great pizzas. Often come here because of vouchers/o2 Priority. Usually quick service.

Visited for the first time today with my wife. I had the ham eggs and chips with piccalilli, she had the meetball mozzarella sourdough. Both were simple options but were excellent: freshly prepared with high quality ingredients and a bit of a twist. The staff serving us were polite, friendly and helpful, and attended to us quickly and efficiently. It wasn't too busy, but there was good ambience. Highly recommended.
Beautifully designed interior, offering a bright and relaxing experience...be that simply having a drink, or enjoying some of the offerings on the menu. An eclectic mix of young and old, weekday lunchtime sees an older clientele, whilst evenings and weekends tend to attract a younger, student based patron. Very friendly and welcoming staff, free WiFi. Highly recommended.

Lovely afternoon tea in a great venue. Nice selection of sandwiches and cakes. Good selection of drinks. Nice and friendly staff. The Sunday lunches being bought out to other tables looked good too. Book in advance as it can get full up quite quickly. There is also a car park just across the road, so it is easy to get to.
Had my friends Hen Party here and it was amazing! The service was outstanding and every single member of staff were lovely. The food was also brilliant. Could not fault it at all and considering we had a large group it was perfect!

Great food, great atmosphere and awesome staff. The name sort of gives it away as it is very much a lounge with a rustic feel to it. There are board games and toys for kids which are helpful. On the back is a roofless area for smoking if you are so inclined.
We visited with friends on a Sunday around lunch time and it was absolutely heaving. We could only find space outside at first and then found a free table inside after about 15 minutes. The food was good and the atmosphere is usually good. There were lots of toys for the kids to play with and there are adults games too. It did seem a bit too busy though and we had to shout so that we could hear each other.

Worst night club in Southampton. 100% recommend. Always end up smashed and always a good night.
Amazing place. Great atmosphere. Very friendly. Crazy cocktails. Must go on a Monday night that's when it's the busiest. You must try the cocktail called the game changer!!!!

Enjoyed a lovely lunch with my partner having the caesar salad, club sandwich and a plate of shared nachos. Possibly having one too many alcoholic beverages on one of the hottest days we've had in April, but the day was amazing. Great views and friendly, helpful staff. Will definitely come back when the weather is on our side.
Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Pitcher and Piano. Love the chilled atmosphere. Didn't feel under any pressure at all to rush our meal. Would recommend.
