Hobbit themed pub with a lot of rustic character. There are Hobbit ornamental statues and paintings inspired from the story. The huge beer garden is fantastic and offers open and sheltered spaces. Unfortunately there is no wheelchair access to the garden. The drinks are very reasonably priced. There are different offers and events depending on what day of the week it is, including open mic and live bands.
Dog friendly. Great staff. Lovely atmosphere. Awesome cocktails, reasonably priced. Served in a pint, how cocktails should be.

Quiet pub very friendly staff and owner. Brings good atmosphere and has some deals on drinks. They sell pizza for food but nothing else and drinks are a bit pricey but love this place
Cheap doubles (can't remember how much cause I had a lot!), huge beer garden, love it, perfect for summer days/evenings
200 Portswood Rd, Southampton SO17 2LB, UK – 023 8055 4410
We went here to celebrate my birthday. Food was fantastic, my burger was delicious. Burger, Egg, bacon, cheese, hash browns & salad. Was going to go to a local ice cream parlour for pudding but was sold on the G&T sundae so no need. Burger deal included a drink. Mum had pensioners 2 courses for £4.99 so she had garlic mushrooms & cod & chips. For an extra £1 she had apple crumble. Great value for money will definitely come again
If you know what you're getting yourself into before you go you'll have a great time. It's clean, it's consistent and it's cheerful. Great atmosphere during the world cup, pleasant service and the food, albeit not anything spectacular, is consistent and good value.

Friendly staff. Fast service to be seated and to order. Granted it wasn’t a busy time, so can’t comment on the popular times. There was 3 of us, including a young child. She was given paper and crayons which helped to keep her entertained. The venue has quite a modern look and feel on the inside and does have its own ice cream factory (not seen one of these in ears). The food was great - came to about £50 for us 3 (but we did eat a lot). Good location to the hotel we were staying in. Would recommend if you want a good service and nice meal.
Friendly staff, great service, great food (very filling! Only had 9 inch pizza n salad bowl but full all day!) Free salad as many times as you want and free refills on drinks. Strawberry coke and cherry coke very nice ☺ Really pleased we chose here to eat ☺ also very reasonable price ☺

I have been here many of times good service especially from Kira who recently served me. She is a natural at her job and she offers exceptional customer service and she always has a smile on her face while doing that. A true asset to the company she works for!
Fantastic restaurant with great welcome from staff and service with a smile. Comfortable surroundings on the marina at ocean village. Food was absolutely amazing a little pricey though if your on a budget!

Exceptionally delicious. Fresh food comes out when it's ready. Great size small plates with tons of flavour. Good cocktail and wine list. Service was friendly and not overbearing. No complaints whatsoever! Totally recommend a visit.
Really really nice food, welcoming atmosphere and the staff are super helpful. Remarkably reasonably priced for the quality of restaurant. Would reccomend 👏👌👍

If you want some nice sweet and sour chicken balls, this is the right place for you (if you're around the Portwoods area). Chip portions are reasonable too. What makes this place good are the curries. Very tasty!
Nice taste good service and decent price. The only thing was lacking that the variety in the vegetables in the vegetable curry. It could be way better ....

Visiting from Wales to meet with a friend I've not seen in 5yrs who works on Carnival Cruise Lines. Was staying in a local hotel and decided to take an early evening walk to acquaint myself with the area and also grab a bite to eat. This place looked inviting, and I ended up ordering sweet & sour king prawn squid balls and a bag of chips. The lady behind the counter was friendly and welcoming and chatted to me whilst my ordered was prepared, ushering me to take a seat whilst we chatted. The phone was red hot with orders, demonstrating I'd made a good choice choosing this eatery. I walked back to my hotel and really enjoyed the prawns. A great little establishment, friendly and courteous staff, too.
Best curry iv tasted... an other food I order is just lovely always hot on arrival. 5 star food

Food is always so tasty from here. Delivery is within minutes but admittedly I do only live 2 mins away from the place itself. They take both cash and card payments. This place is great.
Love this place. Food is always delivered on time and tastes amazing

Have been many times and can honestly say this is best Indian for miles around. Consistently high quality food, great service and friendly staff and managers.
My first visit yesterday and an absolute treat! I'm no expert on Indian food but my meal was first rate! Lovely friendly service. Will return.

Fairly nice place. Very good food. Very reasonable prices.
Really polite man delivered my order at 1.30am in 15 minutes, giving me a nice Christmas card and greeting me a Merry Christmas. Strongly appreciate their effort and their care for the customer. I regret I didn't give him some tips. Food is also really good.

For whatever reason my last review didn't post so I'll do it again after yet another successful visit to Max's. It is a great place to each with good honest food and a very welcoming atmosphere. It is a very relaxed place who welcome our children every time and will work hard to ensure you get what you like. My children can be a little fussy at times and they explain the things they like to the staff and they cook something up bespoke if you want them to - Camembert is a favourite!. Max and his wife are great hosts and this feels like a little slice of Sicily mixed with the rest of Europe to give you a wonderful experience. I like the fact it isn't too contemporary and cold as too many places have that decor and it is getting a bit boring. It is small, well run, food tastes good and they can't do enough for you. We have been back time and time again and it is always buzzing in there. We hosted my mother's 50th on a day when they weren't open - they opened for us - yet again going above and beyond.
First visit, for a family birthday celebration dinner. Tempted by excellent Internet reviews it was great to find the reality matched the high expectations. Friendly and efficient service and really high quality food. I would recommend choosing from the Specials Board: we enjoyed superb fillet steak, mussels and salmon/scallop risotto. In comparison the tapas selection was nothing to rave about, but won't stop us going back to Max's for our next celebration dinner. Thank you Max!

Good food. Provided good dairy free option for my little girl. Lovely activity pack to keep children entertained
7.15 on a Saturday night with two young children. Staff were great, so was kids menu and things to occupy children. Great evening, lovely food. Thank you

Really delicious gelato, lots of different flavours to choose from and very quick, friendly service. Cakes, coffee, hot choc, waffles, cookie dough and sundaes are just some of the things you can buy here, they even do breakfast!!! Prices are very reasonable and you're able to try flavours before you buy if it's difficult to make a choice. There's even the option of an 8 scoop challenge where if you manage to eat 8 scoops in less than 10 minutes ( including cream, wafers etc) you get it for free ( along with your name on the board). This place is great for celebrating special occasions such as birthdays etc or just to visit as a little treat both for children and adults. The decor is good , nice atmosphere and looks clean
Do not listen to the last few reviews on Scoops. I have been coming to Scoops for well over a year and a half now and everytime I have ordered something off the menu it has not only taken below ten minutes to be prepared and arrive at the table, but it has tasted amazing. Whether it is the waffles, crepes, shakes or cookie dough, everything is succulent and amazing. Could not offer more praise to the service or quality of food. Ahead of the game when looking at places such as Sprinkles Gelato whom add a teaspoon of serving to your waffles and a single sprinkle (Ironic considering their name). To sum it up, if you want a brilliant experience with family and friends in a vibrant environment and delicious desserts. Look no further, Scoops are reigning supreme as the Undisputed Champions of the Dessert Game in the South.

Lovely on a summer's day with the large windows opened wide. I enjoyed a burger and homemade lemonade on my visit. The burger was a little on the small side with a small amount of coleslaw. The lemonade was delicious, just what I needed on a very warm day
Lovely place. Great atmosphere. Didnt eat here..but food looked good! Coffee was good. 😊

I don't have much experience with Vietnamese cuisine, but what I tasted here was fantastic. Ingredients felt fresh, the meat was of high quality and the seasoning of noodles and soup simply perfect. Then you add the kindness of the staff and the very fair prices, and the picture is complete! We have visited there two times and we will visit again. Highly suggested.
Amazing, just amazing. The service is phenomenal; the staff are so welcoming, accommodating and friendly, the food is terrific and the price is great. I’m totally addicted. This is authentic and rivals our favourite Vietnamese restaurants in London! Veggie summer rolls all year round and the Kansan cheesecake is out of this world. I haven’t been able to find it anywhere else. Everything is fresh and homemade, and the kitchen tailor to your needs. Perfection.

Gorgeous location and delicious food. Went on a quiet Monday evening, and all the staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We had a lovely evening - will return.
Pretty much my second home! Always excellent staff and the location is hard to beat in Southampton. Tapas Tuesday (free drinks!) is a particular fave. Definitely recommended.
Ocean Village, Southampton SO14 3JB, UK – 023 8033 4392
Good - great location on the marina especially if you can sit outside on a warm, sunny, day as you have a great view and a cooling breeze off the water. Not so good - very busy, which was expected due to the weather, however there were no where near enough staff so tables were not cleared & cleaned quickly enough - the weather forecast wasn't a surprise, so there's no excuse for understaffing. Food was very mediocre although it was served fairly quickly. A couple of comments about the outside seating area - several tables outside were broken and should have been replaced. It was unpleasant having people's cigarette smoke cloaking you while you're eating - it would have been good to have a smoking area and a no smoking area. Yes, we could have moved inside but we were in the middle of eating our meal & it was packed inside & out.
Good views of the marina and the small plates are good value. Service can be slow, but always polite.

Huge mug tea, was asked which milk I'd prefer : cows, soy, rice or coconut. Soul music playing in the background, all the ones I love, Aretha and Marvin etc... Highly recommend this very relaxed vibe.
Very good, but nothing special that made me want to go back.
50 Oxford St, Southampton SO14 3DP, UK – 023 8023 1555
What a lovely place to spend an evening! Chilled vibe. Good music (chart / dance / 80s pop). The staff are the nicest I've ever dealt with. Very friendly and welcoming. The food is a mix of Spanish and Greek. I thoroughly recommend the halloumi wrap. Omg it's amazing! Incredibly affordable and very filling! My friend had the mixed grill and he said it was incredibly tasty. It was not your usual English mixed grill as it had a delicious marinade.
Amazing food. The humus was lovely I wanted to take some home ha! Cocktails are so good!! Worked around our timings so we could use our groupon voucher. Would recommend and will return! Staff are very friendly!🙏🏽
