Hedge End Golf Centre

Upper Northam Rd, Hedge End, Southampton SO30 4BZ, UK – 01489 773890

Been coming here for years, simple, easy to use and generally good quality balls. The bays are getting a little tired but otherwise great facilities!

A very well set out driving range with reasonable prices and great facilities.

The Ageas Bowl

Botley Rd, West End, Southampton SO30 3XH, UK – 023 8047 2002

Went to my first T20 blast. A really fast paced form of cricket with music playing between overs. Plenty of fun for all the family. Lots of food and drinks on sale

Sport is really not my thing and even less so for my wife. However, we were give tickets to see Hampshire play T20 cricket so gave it a go. It is truly a fantastic evening out with lots going on, excitement and crowd participation. We will certainly give it another go and next time we may even care who wins.

Southampton Water Activities Centre

Longbridge Industrial Estate, Floating Bridge Road, Southampton SO14 3FL, UK – 023 8091 5753

Did my sailing course here. Wonderful staff, atmosphere was great and actually learned so much in a condensed period of time. The facility itself is in a prime location however sometimes the shelter from nearby flats, bridge and houses skew the wind but the staff took us out further so not at all a problem. In terms of changing area and equipment, it’s a really fantastic place. Good for all ages!!

I give Mike 5 stars because he is a brilliant teacher, hope to do more sailing courses with him. Other instructors at SWAC may not be so good... its better to be taught by a full time instructor.

Southampton Sea Cadets

Wow! I really look forward to 'Sea cadet nights'. Whether boating on the river or learning navigation or meterology, I simply crave the cadet experience. Offshore trips are available and really are the pinnicle of the cadet experience. I find the winter months slightly less interessting than the summer boating but its all great fun. There is of course a serious side which hits you at first site of the unit (please dont be put off on your first night(dont judge a book by its covers)) after the formal side everyone makes friends very fast and teamwork is strong and is clear throughout the unit. As both a Cadet at the time of writing this I can definatly say this is one of the best ways to get: -Cheap qualifications (PB2, BTech, DofE and many more) -Build your teamwork skills -Have fun boating -Learn loads of life skills -And lots and lots of other things. And NO there is no requirement to join the Navy it is a youth development organisation 'Sea Cadets is the UK's largest maritime youth charity.' Finally I would like to make it clear this is my own opinion and has not been influenced by anyone in the unit. Thanks Alex {Official Google reviewer}
